What Is PAN Card?

The PAN card or the Permanent Account Number is a 10-digit alphanumeric number which is issued by the Income Tax Department of India as a laminated card. It is essential to have a PAN number for every individual who is eligible for filing their income tax returns. From 2005 the Income Tax Department has made it compulsory to quote the PAN on income tax return and on any paper work regarding the income tax authority in the country.   

Besides, all the documents related to any financial dealings informed from the Central Board of Direct Taxes like financial transactions regarding immovable property, motor vehicle, payment of expenses more than a certain amount for hotels, restaurants or tours to foreign land also need to mention PAN.

PAN is also required for getting a telephone or mobile phone connection. Any bank or post office deposition of cash exceeding Rs 50,000 requires mentioning PAN on the deposit slip. Besides, for making a time deposit exceeding Rs 50,0000 also requires mentioning the PAN. 

What Is UTI?

UTI Technology Services (UTITSL), now popularly known as UTI Infrastructure Technology And Services Limited (UTIITSL), was sponsored by the UTI and was included as a limited firm on May 19, 1993. The firm was founded for the people who invest in UTI schemes. As a result of the implementation of the Unit Trust of India (Transfer of Undertaking and Repeal) Act 2002, the company is considered as a Government Company u/s 617 of the Company’s Act 1956. 

The UTI Infrastructure Technology Limited (UTIITSL) was established in 1993. It is a government company and it gives technological services and outsourcing services for different financial and government divisions of the country.

The company has become the largest firm to provide financial services in India-SEBI approved Category 1-Registrar and Transfer Agent which offers services to people who invest in Mutual Fund AMC, bonds or deposit or the shareholders different institution in Corporate, financial and government sectors.

How UTI Helps In PAN Card Related Services

For the betterment of the PAN related services, the income Tax department has given the authority to the UTI Infrastructure Technology Services Ltd (UTIITSL) to establish and manage IT PAN Service centers at all the cities having Income tax office. UTIITSL has established more than one centers in big cities for the ease of PAN applicants.
